Cookbook Book Club
at Jane & the Lion Bakehouse
Some ideas arrive quietly.
As if they were waiting to be uncovered at just the right moment.
Cookbook Book Club is one of those ideas.
A chance to slow down. To cook with intention. To gather. Around a table, yes—but also out in the community. With our local libraries, independent bookshops, farmers, makers, neighbors, and the people growing, raising, and creating the food that brings us together.

How It Works
Each month, we will choose a cookbook inspired by a season, an author, or simply something we’re all excited to cook from.
Grab a copy from your local library, borrow one from a friend, or support one of our favorite independent bookstores by purchasing your own.
Choose one recipe from the cookbook and prepare it at home.
One ingredient in your dish must come from a local source—a farm, farmers market, or local producer. If you're wondering where to find something, just ask. Connecting people with the farmers, ranchers, millers, and makers behind our local food system is one of our favorite things to do!
Then we gather.
Twelve seats. One long table.
Bring your finished dish ready to share, along with your own place setting:
Plate
Napkin
Utensils
Drinking glass
Wine glass or beer pint (if you're bringing a beverage)
Jane will set the table and also prepare one dish for everyone to enjoy. (And who knows, maybe some other chef friends will join in too).
BYOB is warmly encouraged.
The Cookbook Book Club is complimentary to attend, but space is limited to twelve guests each month so please, RSVP below ⬇️
